Proposal ready · FairWhey MVP

A streamlined Shopify Plus launch for FAIRWHEY, US-first, built for golfers and subscribers.

A focused Shopify Plus build for a premium golf nutrition brand launching in the US market. Subscriptions powered by Recharge from day one. A single English storefront with US tax and shipping configuration. Klaviyo integration for email capture and automation. Theme-based build within existing Shopify theme confines — no custom development. Designed to go live fast and scale later.

Your vision

What FairWhey looks like on Shopify Plus.

One brand, three languages, two channels, and a subscription engine running from day one. DTC golfers converting on a video-first homepage. Wholesale accounts logging into a gated B2B portal. Subscribers locking in their monthly supply. Five outcomes drive every decision in this build.

01

A video-first homepage that converts on first impression.

FairWhey is a visual brand. The homepage leads with a full-bleed video hero, performance-first encoding, and a conversion flow that moves a visitor from awareness to subscription in under three scrolls. Shopify Plus speed targets: Core Web Vitals green, Lighthouse green on mobile and desktop.

02

Subscriptions live from day one via Recharge.

Zahed is building a subscription-first brand. Recharge powers the subscribe-and-save flow, subscription management portal, and the cadence logic behind monthly bundles. DTC golfers lock in their supply. The brand builds recurring revenue from week one of going live.

03

US-first, English only — built for speed.

Single US storefront in English. US tax, US shipping zones, US checkout. No Shopify Markets, no multi-language, no international VAT. The architecture supports adding markets post-launch; the MVP scope keeps scope tight so FairWhey is live and selling in weeks, not months.

04

Okendo reviews and social proof from launch day.

Okendo installed and configured on PDP and collection pages. Review request emails wired to post-purchase triggers. FairWhey builds credibility with real customer reviews from the first order, not months after launch when the review gap has already cost conversions.

05

A brand that looks as premium as it plays.

Arc’teryx-level presentation was Zahed's benchmark. Every touchpoint: typography, spacing, product photography, packaging language, and motion. A design system locked in Phase 03 that every future page, email, and campaign inherits automatically.

Subscription architecture

Recharge subscriptions, live from day one.

Recharge powers the subscribe-and-save toggle, customer subscription portal, and the cadence logic behind monthly golf nutrition bundles. Arctic Grey configures plan tiers, discount rules, and the full lifecycle flow. FairWhey manages subscriptions in one admin, not a patchwork of tools.

One-time and subscribe-and-save in the same cart. Customer portal for skip, pause, cancel, and swap. Failed payment recovery built in. Deep Klaviyo event data flowing into lifecycle flows from day one.

  • Recharge plan tiers, cadences, and subscribe-and-save discount logic
  • Subscribe-and-save toggle on PDP and cart, wired to Recharge product IDs
  • Customer subscription portal: skip, pause, cancel, swap, reactivate
  • Unified cart for one-time and subscription orders in one Shopify checkout

Out of scope

What this SOW does not include.

Anything outside the list below goes through a Change Order at the prevailing rate. Listing exclusions up front keeps the build clean and the timeline honest.

  • 01 · Shopify Markets & international Shopify Markets configuration, multi-language storefronts, international pricing, VAT rules, and hreflang are not in scope for this MVP. The build is US-only, English only. International expansion is the natural next engagement post-launch.
  • 02 · B2B wholesale portal Shopify B2B company accounts, custom wholesale price lists, volume discount rules, and the B2B order portal are not in scope for MVP. Wholesale is a dedicated engagement after the DTC storefront is live and stable.
  • 03 · Custom theme development Custom Liquid 2.0 components, bespoke sections, or any development outside the existing theme framework are not in scope for MVP. The build works entirely within the theme. Custom development is available as a future Bulk Hours engagement.
  • 04 · Klaviyo full optimisation This SOW covers Klaviyo integration and core lifecycle flows only. Full template design, advanced segmentation, A/B testing programs, and ongoing email optimisation are separate Bulk Hours engagements.
  • 05 · Creative production Net-new photography, video production, or brand identity work. FairWhey-supplied brand assets and product photography are used as-is and built into the theme.
  • 06 · Loyalty program A points-and-tiers loyalty program is not in scope for MVP. Recommended as a post-launch engagement once 90 days of subscription and purchase data establishes customer behaviour baselines.
  • 07 · WCAG certification Arctic Grey builds to WCAG 2.1 AA standards throughout. Formal third-party WCAG certification or an independent accessibility audit is contracted directly by FairWhey.
  • 08 · Payment gateway customization Custom payment gateway integrations beyond Shopify Payments and Shop Pay. This storefront runs native Shopify checkout end-to-end. Additional gateway work is a change order.
  • 09 · Third-party app subscription costs Recharge, Okendo, Klaviyo, Rebuy, and all other app subscription fees are billed directly by the vendor to FairWhey. Not included in this SOW investment.
Recommended apps

The Shopify apps we'd put in front of FairWhey.

Okendo for reviews. Smart Cart by AfterSell for cart conversion. Klaviyo for email. Loop for returns. Shopify Translate for international content. Subscription costs sit with FairWhey, not in this SOW.

Each app below links straight to its Shopify App Store listing so the FairWhey team can read pricing, reviews, and changelogs before any demo. Final stack is locked in the first two weeks of Discovery.

What we have shipped that maps to FairWhey.

Arctic Grey engagements that share the DNA of this build: premium brand launches, subscription-first DTC stores, and Shopify Plus builds that drive the kind of revenue jump that follows when the platform finally fits the brand.

Albee Baby

Premium brand on Shopify Plus, subscription + DTC in one build

Albee Baby moved a family-owned premium operation onto Shopify Plus and tripled the surface area Google could see. The same conversion architecture and design system approach powers the FairWhey build: video-first homepage, subscription-first product pages, and a design standard that communicates premium before any copy lands.

+159% Conversion lift
+97% Traffic lift
Lira Clinical

Luxury DTC + wholesale on one Shopify Plus instance

Lira Clinical runs a premium skincare brand with both DTC and professional wholesale accounts on a single Shopify Plus store. The same dual-channel architecture powers FairWhey: DTC golfers and B2B wholesale accounts in one admin, one inventory, one checkout, with pricing that shows the right number to the right buyer every time.

+53% Order lift
+18% Sales lift
Headbanger Sports

Real wholesale on Shopify B2B, three lifts in one quarter

Headbanger's wholesale buyers got a real account portal: gated logins, custom price lists, NET terms, the works. FairWhey's wholesale accounts get the same treatment, so the phone-and-email order process moves into a self-serve portal and the team stops manually processing every wholesale order.

+22% Conversion lift
+37% Sales lift
Conway Shield

Premium DTC, sticky cart, AOV lift from subscription upsells

Conway Shield sells premium specialized products to a discerning buyer who researches before they purchase. The same high-conviction product page architecture, cart drawer conversion logic, and post-purchase upsell flow from the Conway build maps directly onto FairWhey's purchase journey.

+171% added to cart
+30% Conversion lift
Goodwynns

Family-owned wholesale + member pricing on Shopify

Goodwynns runs wholesale and member pricing on one Shopify Plus store, with custom price lists per account and a rental flow. A proven architecture for brands that sell to both consumers and accounts from a single Shopify Plus admin.

+100% Conversion lift
+95% AOV lift
Lids

Shopify Plus with international markets + localized storefronts

Lids runs Shopify Plus across multiple markets with localized storefronts, currency rules, and market-specific pricing. The same Shopify Markets architecture powers FairWhey's EN, ES, and PT storefronts: one store, one inventory, three localized customer experiences, all managed from a single Shopify admin.

+120% Conversion lift
+46% AOV lift
Default assumptions

Open questions, answered up front.

Every decision baked into the scope above, listed plainly with the reasoning. Any of these can be challenged in Discovery. Hiding nothing.

  • Build classification New Shopify Plus build from scratch. Not a migration from an existing platform. Theme built custom to the FairWhey design system, not a theme purchased from the Shopify Theme Store.
  • Subscription platform Recharge Subscriptions, live from launch day. Subscribe-and-save at checkout, self-service subscription portal, and cadence management. Recharge subscription fees are contracted directly between FairWhey and Recharge.
  • International markets Shopify Markets with three storefronts: EN (US default), ES (LATAM + Spain), PT (Brazil + Portugal). Separate tax logic per region. FairWhey supplies translated product content or provides a translation vendor. Arctic Grey wires the infrastructure.
  • B2B wholesale US DTC and subscription revenue is the focus. Shopify B2B wholesale portal is not in scope for MVP. Wholesale is a dedicated post-launch engagement once the DTC store is live and converting.
  • Klaviyo scope Integration and core flows only. Welcome, abandoned cart, post-purchase, subscription-aware flows. Full template design, A/B testing, and advanced segmentation are separate Bulk Hours engagements.
  • Tax US: Avalara AvaTax for nexus-based state tax. UK + EU: Shopify Markets VAT handling. B2B wholesale exemption certificates managed in Avalara. Avalara fees are contracted directly by FairWhey.
  • Payments Shopify Payments + Shop Pay for DTC checkout. Recharge handles recurring subscription billing. B2B wholesale orders via Shopify B2B payment terms. No third-party gateway integrations in scope.
  • Cross-sell Rebuy Smart Cart for cart drawer, PDP, and post-purchase upsells. Frequently-bought-together logic tuned for supplement bundles and subscription upsells.
  • Reviews Okendo Reviews for verified product reviews, photo UGC, and video testimonials. Okendo is Arctic Grey's preferred review platform for premium DTC brands. Replaces Yotpo in the recommended stack.
  • Launch timeline Kickoff June 9, 2026. Go-live July 31, 2026. Duration 7 to 8 weeks from kickoff to launch. Achievable with focused execution. Theme configuration, catalog build, and Recharge setup run in parallel across phases 02 to 04. QA and merchant training are the final gates before launch.

Frequently asked

The questions Zahed and the FairWhey team have already asked, answered.

The MVP is scoped for a fast, focused US launch: theme configuration, Recharge subscriptions, Klaviyo integration, Okendo reviews, US store setup, SEO foundation, and QA. No custom development, no international markets, no B2B portal. Every hour maps 1:1 to a phase on the Monday board. The 180:00 Bulk Hours get FairWhey live in the US in 7 to 8 weeks, then the remaining bank funds post-launch iteration.
Achievable in 7 to 8 weeks from kickoff. Theme configuration, catalog, and Recharge setup run in parallel across weeks 2 to 4. Klaviyo wiring and app configuration are done by week 5. QA and merchant training complete in week 6 to 7, DNS cutover July 31. If discovery surfaces a meaningful unknown, we re-baseline together rather than working around it. No surprises in the schedule.
Custom development adds time and cost to a build. For an MVP launch, theme-based configuration gets FairWhey live in 7 to 8 weeks at 180 Bulk Hours. The theme handles the homepage, PDP, collection, cart, and account pages. Once the store is live and converting, custom components can be built incrementally with Bulk Hours, so every new investment is driven by real traffic data rather than pre-launch assumptions.
Shopify's native subscribe-and-save is limited: no customer subscription portal, no skip/pause/swap, no advanced cadence logic. Recharge gives FairWhey a full subscription experience: a self-service portal customers actually use, failed payment recovery, churn-reducing skip flows, and deep Klaviyo integration for subscription lifecycle email. Recharge is Arctic Grey's subscription platform of choice on every nutrition and wellness build.
FairWhey is a new build, not a migration, so there is no legacy platform to move off. Product catalog is built fresh to the FairWhey catalog architecture. Customer accounts are created at checkout or import. Recharge handles subscription account creation natively. The team gets a clean Shopify admin with no migration debt, no legacy redirect debt, and no orphaned data from a previous platform.
Phase 11 is 60:00 Bulk Hours of post-launch support: 30:00 Bulk Hours for dedicated hyper-care immediately after launch and 30:00 Bulk Hours into the Bulk Hours bank for ongoing work. After that, FairWhey typically rolls into a Bulk Hours retainer for subscription optimization, new market rollouts, and merchant success oversight from the Arctic Grey team. Bulk Hours never expire and stay in the bank until you draw them down.
Beyond launch

A multi-year plan, not a launch-and-leave.

August 2026 is the floor, not the ceiling. The four tracks below are the forward-looking roadmap once FairWhey is live and stable on Shopify Plus.

  • 01 · Conversion + retention B2B account expansion, quote-to-order velocity, reorder workflow optimization, AI search refinement on supplement cross-sell data. Each one targets a specific number on the dashboard, not generic "growth."
  • 02 · Market + channel Shopify POS pilot at the Bentleyville wholesale fulfilment, Amazon parts marketplace integration, Google Shopping feed optimization. Open new revenue lines without disrupting the storefront.
  • 03 · Intelligence Fleet-management layer (year/make/model to predicted parts), customer LTV scoring, vendor API call cost optimization. Use the data the storefront generates to make better decisions.
  • 04 · Always-on Bulk Hours bank for monthly enhancements, performance budget enforcement, vendor API expansion, and new B2B account onboarding. The retainer that keeps the platform sharp.
Terms & compliance

This SOW falls under our standard Terms of Service.

The full agreement governs every Arctic Grey engagement. Read it in detail at arcticgrey.com/policies/terms-of-service. The points below are the parts most relevant to FairWhey.

Key terms summary

The five points worth knowing

  • Payment You only pay for work delivered. Hours already worked are non-refundable. Any unused Bulk Hours or prepaid balance that has not been drawn down is refundable on request.
  • Scope Services are limited to the scope signed in this SOW. Additional work goes through a Change Order at prevailing rates.
  • IP ownership Custom deliverables transfer to Fairwhey Golf S.L. upon receipt of full and final payment. Arctic Grey retains pre-existing IP and reusable components.
  • Warranty 30-day limited warranty post-acceptance. Sole remedy is re-performance of any non-conforming work. Other warranties are disclaimed.
  • Termination FairWhey may terminate with 30 days written notice plus full remaining balance. Arctic Grey may terminate immediately for breach.
Quality & accessibility

Our QA and ADA commitment

Arctic Grey will perform full functional, visual, accessibility (targeting WCAG 2.2 AA), and performance quality assurance testing as part of our development and launch process. We will make every reasonable effort to ensure the site complies with the latest ADA standards and applicable WCAG guidelines.

Full accessibility compliance is an evolving standard that can be subject to interpretation and ongoing platform and content changes. We strongly recommend that FairWhey engage a qualified third-party accessibility auditor to perform a full review after the site goes live.

Arctic Grey will remediate any ADA or WCAG findings identified in a formal third-party report at no additional cost, provided the detailed report is delivered to us within 60 days of the official go-live date. This post-launch remediation applies only to issues identified in the third-party report and does not extend to new feature requests, design changes, or content updates.
