Kickoff + discovery
Brand positioning locked, subscription model designed, app stack confirmed, Monday board opened. Scope signed off before build begins.
A focused Shopify Plus build for a premium golf nutrition brand launching in the US market. Subscriptions powered by Recharge from day one. A single English storefront with US tax and shipping configuration. Klaviyo integration for email capture and automation. Theme-based build within existing Shopify theme confines — no custom development. Designed to go live fast and scale later.
We want to build the Arc’teryx of golf nutrition. Premium everywhere: the product, the packaging, the site, the experience.
One brand, three languages, two channels, and a subscription engine running from day one. DTC golfers converting on a video-first homepage. Wholesale accounts logging into a gated B2B portal. Subscribers locking in their monthly supply. Five outcomes drive every decision in this build.
FairWhey is a visual brand. The homepage leads with a full-bleed video hero, performance-first encoding, and a conversion flow that moves a visitor from awareness to subscription in under three scrolls. Shopify Plus speed targets: Core Web Vitals green, Lighthouse green on mobile and desktop.
Zahed is building a subscription-first brand. Recharge powers the subscribe-and-save flow, subscription management portal, and the cadence logic behind monthly bundles. DTC golfers lock in their supply. The brand builds recurring revenue from week one of going live.
Single US storefront in English. US tax, US shipping zones, US checkout. No Shopify Markets, no multi-language, no international VAT. The architecture supports adding markets post-launch; the MVP scope keeps scope tight so FairWhey is live and selling in weeks, not months.
Okendo installed and configured on PDP and collection pages. Review request emails wired to post-purchase triggers. FairWhey builds credibility with real customer reviews from the first order, not months after launch when the review gap has already cost conversions.
Arc’teryx-level presentation was Zahed's benchmark. Every touchpoint: typography, spacing, product photography, packaging language, and motion. A design system locked in Phase 03 that every future page, email, and campaign inherits automatically.
Recharge powers the subscribe-and-save toggle, customer subscription portal, and the cadence logic behind monthly golf nutrition bundles. Arctic Grey configures plan tiers, discount rules, and the full lifecycle flow. FairWhey manages subscriptions in one admin, not a patchwork of tools.
One-time and subscribe-and-save in the same cart. Customer portal for skip, pause, cancel, and swap. Failed payment recovery built in. Deep Klaviyo event data flowing into lifecycle flows from day one.
This SOW covers the fairwhey.golf Shopify Plus storefront: US DTC and subscriptions. Shopify Markets, international storefronts, and the B2B wholesale portal are not in scope for this MVP engagement.
The focused FairWhey Shopify Plus MVP build: US-first, English only, theme-based, ready in 7 to 8 weeks.
Forward-looking roadmap once the storefront is live and 90 days of real subscription data are in.
Estimated hours reflect a focused MVP build: US-only, English, theme-based, Recharge subscriptions, Klaviyo integration, and Okendo reviews. No custom development, no international markets, no B2B portal. Mapped 1:1 to the Arctic Grey Build Milestones board on Monday.
Anything outside the list below goes through a Change Order at the prevailing rate. Listing exclusions up front keeps the build clean and the timeline honest.
Eight apps doing one job each, every one configured for a luxury golf nutrition brand selling DTC, subscriptions, international, and wholesale. Recharge for subscriptions. Rebuy for cross-sells. Okendo for reviews. Smart Cart by AfterSell for cart conversion. Klaviyo for email. Loop for returns. Shopify Translate for international content. Subscription costs sit with FairWhey, not in this SOW.
Each app below links straight to its Shopify App Store listing so the FairWhey team can read pricing, reviews, and changelogs before any demo. Final stack is locked in the first two weeks of Discovery.
The subscription engine powering FairWhey from day one. Subscribe-and-save at checkout, a self-service customer portal for skip, pause, swap, and cancel, and a cadence engine that keeps golfers supplied on their schedule. Recharge is Arctic Grey's primary subscription platform across every DTC nutrition build.
View Pricing → Cross-sellFrequently-bought-together bundles in the cart drawer, on the product detail page, and in the post-purchase upsell. For FairWhey that means a golfer adding a protein canister gets prompted with the matching recovery supplement, the pre-round energy pack, and a sample bundle, all in one click. Rebuy is Arctic Grey's permanent recommendation engine across every build.
View Pricing → Reviews & UGCVerified reviews, photo UGC, and video testimonials on every FairWhey product page. For a premium golf nutrition brand, peer reviews from real players carry enormous purchase weight. Okendo's review widgets are visually clean, mobile-first, and pull into Klaviyo for post-purchase automation. Arctic Grey's preferred review platform across every premium build.
View Pricing → Smart CartA conversion-tuned cart drawer with free-shipping progress bars, subscribe-and-save toggle in the cart, item-level upsells, and an accelerated checkout path. For a premium nutrition brand, the cart is where the subscribe-and-save conversion decision happens. A well-designed cart drawer lifts subscription attach rate on every order.
View Pricing → InternationalizationThe native Shopify tool for managing translated content across EN, ES, and PT storefronts. Product descriptions, metafields, navigation, and theme content all managed in one place. Pairs directly with Shopify Markets so the right language surfaces to the right market without any middleware. Free and maintained by Shopify.
View App → Email & SMSLifecycle email and SMS built on Shopify + Recharge customer and order data. Welcome series for new subscribers, upcoming charge reminders, failed payment recovery, subscription winback, and post-purchase cross-sell flows. Market-specific sender profiles for EN, ES, and PT storefronts keep every message in the right language.
View Pricing → ReviewsVerified reviews, photo UGC, and video testimonials on every product detail page. For a premium brand, social proof from real golfers converts harder than any marketing copy. Okendo's review displays are mobile-first and visually premium, matching the FairWhey brand standard. Moderation tools keep the review feed clean and on-brand.
View Pricing → ReturnsSelf-service returns and exchanges with rules per SKU and customer type. DTC returns follow one policy, wholesale returns another. Subscription customers who want to swap a product variant stay in the Recharge portal instead of triggering a return. Cuts inbound load on the FairWhey team and gets the customer back to re-ordering faster.
View Pricing → SupportUnified support inbox for email, chat, and social with full Shopify order and subscription context. The FairWhey team answers a customer question with their order history, subscription status, and wholesale tier on one screen. Recharge subscription events surface directly in Zendesk so the team can cancel, skip, or update without switching tabs.
View Pricing → Data & migrationBulk product and customer imports with field-level transforms, metafield mapping, and dry-run imports against a staging store before the launch window. Keeps the FairWhey catalog structured correctly for Recharge subscription IDs, B2B pricing tier tags, and Shopify Markets content from day one. Exports stay easy so the team owns its data forever.
View Pricing → TaxSales tax across every US state FairWhey ships into, with VAT handled by Shopify Markets for UK and EU. B2B wholesale exemption certificates managed in one place. Replaces the native Shopify Tax engine for US nexus calculations. Subscription recurring charges run through the same Avalara connector so tax is consistent across one-time and subscribe-and-save orders.
Direct vendor. No Shopify App Store listing.
View Pricing →App subscription costs are billed by the app vendor, not Arctic Grey. We will install + configure each one as part of the build.

Arctic Grey engagements that share the DNA of this build: premium brand launches, subscription-first DTC stores, and Shopify Plus builds that drive the kind of revenue jump that follows when the platform finally fits the brand.
Albee Baby moved a family-owned premium operation onto Shopify Plus and tripled the surface area Google could see. The same conversion architecture and design system approach powers the FairWhey build: video-first homepage, subscription-first product pages, and a design standard that communicates premium before any copy lands.
Lira Clinical runs a premium skincare brand with both DTC and professional wholesale accounts on a single Shopify Plus store. The same dual-channel architecture powers FairWhey: DTC golfers and B2B wholesale accounts in one admin, one inventory, one checkout, with pricing that shows the right number to the right buyer every time.
Headbanger's wholesale buyers got a real account portal: gated logins, custom price lists, NET terms, the works. FairWhey's wholesale accounts get the same treatment, so the phone-and-email order process moves into a self-serve portal and the team stops manually processing every wholesale order.
Conway Shield sells premium specialized products to a discerning buyer who researches before they purchase. The same high-conviction product page architecture, cart drawer conversion logic, and post-purchase upsell flow from the Conway build maps directly onto FairWhey's purchase journey.
Goodwynns runs wholesale and member pricing on one Shopify Plus store, with custom price lists per account and a rental flow. A proven architecture for brands that sell to both consumers and accounts from a single Shopify Plus admin.
Lids runs Shopify Plus across multiple markets with localized storefronts, currency rules, and market-specific pricing. The same Shopify Markets architecture powers FairWhey's EN, ES, and PT storefronts: one store, one inventory, three localized customer experiences, all managed from a single Shopify admin.
Every decision baked into the scope above, listed plainly with the reasoning. Any of these can be challenged in Discovery. Hiding nothing.

August 2026 is the floor, not the ceiling. The four tracks below are the forward-looking roadmap once FairWhey is live and stable on Shopify Plus.
The full agreement governs every Arctic Grey engagement. Read it in detail at arcticgrey.com/policies/terms-of-service. The points below are the parts most relevant to FairWhey.
Arctic Grey will perform full functional, visual, accessibility (targeting WCAG 2.2 AA), and performance quality assurance testing as part of our development and launch process. We will make every reasonable effort to ensure the site complies with the latest ADA standards and applicable WCAG guidelines.
Full accessibility compliance is an evolving standard that can be subject to interpretation and ongoing platform and content changes. We strongly recommend that FairWhey engage a qualified third-party accessibility auditor to perform a full review after the site goes live.
Arctic Grey will remediate any ADA or WCAG findings identified in a formal third-party report at no additional cost, provided the detailed report is delivered to us within 60 days of the official go-live date. This post-launch remediation applies only to issues identified in the third-party report and does not extend to new feature requests, design changes, or content updates.
